Features
What the app does today, and what's being considered next. Nothing below the first section is a promise: plans change, and the roadmap carries no dates on purpose.

The library
- 47 recipes: recipes inspired by rangefinder bodies and shooting eras, and recipes matched to real film stocks: Tri-X, Portra, Velvia, HP5 and more.
- Smart Sort. Select your camera and the grid reorders: fully compatible first, partial matches in an "Extended Library" section, impossible settings hidden entirely.
- Search across title, tags and film simulation at once, persisting as you switch tabs.
- Annotations on every setting: tap a badge to read why that specific value was chosen, with camera-aware wording when a setting had to adapt.
The recipe card
- A full settings grid (film simulation, dynamic range, white balance, tone, grain, sharpness, colour, noise reduction) with compatibility dimming and fallback hints for your selected camera.
- A tone-curve visualisation and film-grain descriptor for every recipe.
- An in-app preview: apply a recipe's tone curve, film colour response and grain to one of your own photos, entirely on-device.
- A before/after slider, a 6-tile Preview Strip, and a 4-slot Compare view with luminance histograms.
- Field Reference Mode: a full-screen, high-contrast readout of a recipe's settings for framing shots at the camera.
- Copy settings, save as an image, print an A6 field card, or share a link.
Making it yours
- Tweak any recipe into your own saved Variation, with fields disabled where your camera can't support them.
- Collections, an edit history, and per-camera custom-slot tracking with its own history.
- Vibe Builder: describe a mood in a sentence and generate a recipe entirely on-device using Apple Intelligence. Burst-generate three at once and compare them.
Getting your data in and out
- Local export of your variations, in plain or passphrase-encrypted form.
- Import a variations backup, or a single shared recipe file.
- Sync through your own iCloud account, off by default and on with one explicit toggle. The bundled library never syncs; only what you create does.
Camera and system integration
- In-app camera capture and full-resolution export back to Photos, entirely on-device.
- Spotlight search, Siri Shortcuts, and Home Screen / Lock Screen widgets for a recipe of the day and your last-used recipe.
- A Mac and iPad shell with a proper sidebar, alongside the iPhone layout.
On the roadmap
An optional cloud fallback for Vibe Builder
On-device generation is, and will stay, the default: it needs no account, no key, and never leaves your device. A cloud option is being considered strictly as a fallback for hardware that can't run the on-device model, using your own API key, never automatic and never a silent substitute for the on-device path.
This is currently paused rather than in progress, partly to see whether an upcoming on-device model update closes the gap it would exist to cover.
