Something not working?
RecipeLab is made by one developer, so mail gets read by the person who can actually fix the thing. A reply usually takes a couple of days.
What to include
A bug is much quicker to fix with a little context. Where you can, mention:
- Your device and OS version (iPhone 16 Pro on iOS 26.1, for example).
- Your camera's sensor generation, if the issue involves compatibility or a recipe's settings.
- The RecipeLab version, shown at the bottom of About Recipe Lab in Settings.
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead.
- If it involves a specific recipe, its name and which camera you had selected.
- A screenshot, if it's something you can see.
Things worth trying first
A setting looks wrong or greyed out for my camera
That's usually Smart Sort's compatibility logic, not a bug: older sensor generations can't do everything newer ones can (Acros, Clarity and Colour Chrome Blue are progressively newer additions). Tap the setting's badge to see the specific reason it was adapted or disabled for your camera.
Vibe Builder says it's unavailable
On-device generation needs Apple Intelligence turned on and supported hardware. The app names the specific reason: unsupported hardware, Apple Intelligence off, or the model still downloading. Check that message first.
My variations aren't showing up on another device
Confirm iCloud Sync is turned on in Settings on both devices, and that both are signed in to the same iCloud account. Syncing is handled by iCloud and can lag a little after a large import.
An import didn't work
Local Export produces a plain JSON file; Local Export (Encrypted) requires the same passphrase to import back in. A ".rlr" file is a single shared recipe, not a full backup. Use "Import Variations" for a backup file and "Import .rlr" for a single recipe file.
Feature requests
Genuinely welcome, and the same address works. Telling us what you were trying to do is more useful than proposing the fix: the underlying problem often has a better solution than the one that first comes to mind.
Privacy questions
The privacy policy covers what is stored, where it lives, and the one setting that sends anything off your device. Anything it doesn't answer, please ask.
